Your first year of medical school is a great time to explore whether you like caring for children. You can do this through a preceptorship, R/UOP or participation in the Pediatric Interest Group.
The mission of the UWSOM Pediatric Interest Group is to explore the field of pediatrics, promote professional development of our members, facilitate interactions between medical students and the professional pediatric community, and help provide medical students with the information to make informed decisions about their careers. Activities include panels, talks and networking events with pediatricians, preceptorships, and volunteer opportunities at Ronald MacDonald House.
We are always happy to talk to people informally as well.
