Clinical Interests: Family centered, and evidence‐based approach for all newborns requiring neonatal intensive care services.
Scholarly Focus: Dr. Perez current scholarly focus centers on evaluating the impact of common NICU practices on specific neonatal outcomes and working collaboratively with physicians, staff members, and NICU families on establishing and/or improving existing guidelines/policies to improve those specific outcomes. The specific focus of Dr. Perez includes the most vulnerable peri‐viable and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) newborn populations. Dr. Perez is also interested in improving outcomes in the Pacific Northwest through outreach education and expansion of telehealth services.
Administration/Education Roles: Dr. Perez is part of the Seattle Children’s EPP Team, a multidisciplinary team involved in improving the outcome of infants born at 22-24 weeks gestation. He is an active member of the Neonatal Telehealth and Chair of the Faculty Recruitment Committee.
