Writing an Effective Staff or Faculty Profile

Below are tips to creating an effective staff or faculty profile:

  • Keep it brief and professional. Please do not include information about your family, pets, hobbies, etc.
  • Keep it low-maintenance.  For example, provide a link to your PubMed publications---do not list them as your list will become outdated quickly.
  • Provide the right information to your audiences. Realize that your audience may include peers, but also prospective funders, patients, etc.
  • Update your photo.  Include a high-quality head shot that was taken within the last 5 years.
  • Provide links to additional information.  Specifically, consider adding links such as:
    • Links to an existing profile in another department or at Seattle Children's
    • Links to your lab website
    • Links to your pubmed publications
  • Consider using headings to highlight your professional experience and research interests. Use whichever headings make the most sense to highlight your work.  For example:
    • Education
    • Professional Experience
    • Clinical Interests
    • Scholarly/Research Interests
    • Clinical, Research, and Teaching Responsibilities
