Clinical, Research and/or Teaching Responsibilities
Dr. Denno serves as a faculty preceptor for pediatric and family medicine residents at UWPC Kent Des Moines.
Dr. Denno’s research, teaching, mentoring, and clinical work focus on reducing health and health care disparities among populations that have been socially or economically marginalized. She has extensive experience in global health. Dr. Denno teaches the maternal and child health in low- and middle-income settings course in the School of Public Health (SPH) and mentors SPH graduate students in global child and adolescent health work. She serves as Associate Director of the University of Washington Global Women Adolescent and Child Health Center, representing the Department of Pediatrics. Her primary areas of research and advocacy interest include improving health services delivery for children and adolescents and better understanding of and interventions related to the intertwining roles of enteric infections, environmental enteric dysfunction, and undernutrition on child survival and health.
