Program Description:
Seattle Foundation administers the Medical Funds program to support:
•Medical research of potential benefit to the community, OR
•To address specific healthcare needs of low-income children.
All applicant organizations must be located primarily in King County and qualify as tax-exempt public charities under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
Medical Research Proposals
The highest priority will be given to specific equipment requests for research projects working on cancer, cardio-pulmonary, multiple sclerosis (or "kindred diseases"), arthritis or autoimmune or inflammatory disease more broadly, and diabetes. Research projects that don't specifically focus on one of these conditions but that could potentially impact their diagnosis or treatment are also encouraged to apply, including basic research.
Healthcare Needs of Low-Income Children
The highest priority will be given to capital campaigns, facility renovation projects, or specific equipment needs supporting the healthcare needs of low-income children.
Pre-Proposal Instructions:
Please submit:
- A one‐page letter of intent with a description of the proposed aims and approach.
- If the final application requires a diversity statement or statement of broader impacts, please include an additional page summarizing your plans to address the specific requirements.
- CV (not biosketch) of the PI including past grant funding.
Please email limitedsubs@uw.edu by 5:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2024. Proposals are due to the sponsor on 6/16/2024, so you will need to have your materials in the Office of Sponsored Programs by 6/5/2024 if given the go‐ahead by the Limited Submissions review committee.
