Richard P. Shugerman, MD

Dr. Richard Shugerman is an emergency attending physician at Seattle Children’s and professor in the Department of Pediatrics. He also serves as director of the Pediatric WWAMI Program and is vice chair for Faculty Development for the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Shugerman earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed both his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Washington. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. In addition to his clinical and educational leadership roles, Dr. Shugerman is actively involved in regional and national professional committees and has published extensively in the fields of pediatric emergency medicine and pediatric education.
