We are committed to training providers of all stages and disciplines to meet the health care needs of adolescents and their families. All of our clinicians are actively involved in teaching both locally and nationally. We have a close relationship with the residency program, medical school and school of nursing and provide regular lectures and frequent direct supervision for trainees in these areas. Our active Adolescent Medicine Fellowship program is formed in cooperation with colleagues in the Department of Psychiatry and the Center for AIDS and STD Research.
The Division of Adolescent Medicine is also the recipient of the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) grant, sponsored by the Maternal Child Health Bureau with the Department of Health & Human Services. The LEAH grant trains the next generation of leaders and advocates for adolescent health. For more information on this program and how to apply, please visit the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health webpage.
We are committed to being a resource to the community and are actively engaged in community projects to prevent obesity, substance abuse prevention, as well as parent education and school health. We have collaborations and partnerships with the King County public health department, Seattle Public Schools and Community Coalitions.
