Many newborn screening protocols miss cases of cystic fibrosis in Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American newborns. New guidelines from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, co-authored by Dr. Meghan McGarry, call for uniform screening protocols that can improve diagnosis and treatment for all babies.
