Amelie von Saint Andre-von Arnim, MD is an attending physician in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Seattle Children’s. Her area of expertise is improving care for critically ill children in low-resource settings through capacity building and research designed to answer practical, on-the-ground questions in that work. She is a co-founder and the UW director of PECC-Kenya, a collaborative Pediatric Emergency and Critical Care fellowship between the University of Nairobi and the University of Washington. The PECC fellowship has trained a growing cohort of pediatric emergency and critical care physicians across Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa, establishing specialist capacity that previously barely existed in the region.
