Dr. Jack C. Salerno is a professor in the UW Department of Pediatrics and serves as vice chair of Clinical Affairs. Trained in pediatric cardiology and advanced electrophysiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Dr. Salerno specializes in sports cardiology, heart rhythm disorders, and the prevention of sudden cardiac arrest in athletes. Nationally recognized in the field, he has authored more than 30 publications and contributed to policy statements for organizations including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. A former intercollegiate football player, Dr. Salerno is also active in community and youth athletics initiatives, serving on the Medical Board of the Nick of Time Foundation and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Sports Advisory Committee.
