Dr. Dale Lee is a professor and associate vice chair of operations and finance in the UW Department of Pediatrics. He also serves as director of Clinical Operations for the Division of Gastroenterology, director of the Celiac Disease Program, and is a member of the Center for Clinical and Translational Research at Seattle Children’s, where he has been on staff since 2014. A specialist in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition and informatics physician, Dr. Lee cares for children with a wide range of digestive and nutrition-related conditions, with particular expertise in celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and the role of diet in treatment and long-term health.
Originally from Oregon, Dr. Lee graduated magna cum laude from Rice University before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his pediatrics residency and served as Chief Resident at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, followed by dual fellowships in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also earned a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on dietary therapy and the impact of food additives in inflammatory bowel disease, guided by a commitment to helping children thrive without being limited by medical conditions.
